All three systems work the same way — clear custom trays, swapped on a schedule — but they're not identical. Here's how we think about them.

Is a clear aligner right for you?

How treatment works

1. Free consultation. We look at your teeth, talk about what you'd like to change, and let you know whether clear aligners are a good option for you. No cost to find out.
2. Digital scan and plan. We take a digital scan of your teeth and design your treatment. Your plan is reviewed by an independent orthodontist before any aligners are made.
3. Your aligners. You'll receive your series of custom trays. You wear each set for the recommended hours per day and swap to the next set on schedule.
4. Check-ins. You come in periodically so we can make sure everything is tracking the way it should.
5. Retainers. Once your teeth are where you want them, you'll wear a retainer to keep them there. Straight teeth can drift back without one.

Cost and payment

Clear aligner treatment at Middle Ridge typically ranges from $5,000 to $8,000 (excluding retainers), depending on the brand and how much movement your teeth need. We'll give you a rough estimated quote at your consultation, before any treatment begins: no surprises.

Some private health funds with extras cover may pay a portion of clear aligner treatment. We'll help you check what your fund covers and assist with making a claim so you know your real out-of-pocket cost up front.

Clear aligners vs braces

For the cases we treat in-house, clear aligners give you a comfortable, discreet way to straighten your teeth. For more complex work, braces under an orthodontist may be the better route — and we'll tell you if that's you.
